Originally from Kalamazoo, Michigan, Jay Krymis has built a remarkable career blending hospitality, entertainment, and civic impact. A Temple University graduate who also studied in Budapest, Jay began his professional journey on the East Coast before establishing his footprint across Philadelphia, New Jersey, Delaware, and eventually Los Angeles.
In Southern California, Jay has opened and operated a wide range of acclaimed venues, including 66 Restaurant and Bar on Sunset Boulevard, the West Hollywood institution Fubar, the neighborhood staples Mic’s Bar and Schmitty’s, and Long Beach’s vibrant Padre—along with multiple locations of Mezcalero, each known for its bold flavors and cultural flair.
Beyond hospitality, Jay has made waves in the entertainment industry. As a film and television producer, he recently sold the 8-episode series In the Big House to Viacom. His acting credentials include a Screen Actors Guild Award as part of the cast of Traffic, and performances in Prepare to Die, Jim Bridger, Gladiators, Christmas Eve, and more. His creative work has earned him multiple Best Supporting Actor awards, further cementing his versatility and talent.
In collaboration with his wife and business partner Michel Verdi, Jay co-founded Booked Talent, an extras casting agency that supports both emerging productions and established studios. Their partnership reflects a shared passion for storytelling, entrepreneurship, and community building.
Recognized by civic and state institutions for his contributions to economic and community development, Jay continues to push boundaries—always with a focus on innovation, authenticity, and impact.
